Oahu Rentals!
While in Oahu or any other island in Hawaii, you are very likely to want to rent a car. It's nice to hang out at the beach near your hotel, but to really get the flavor of Oahu on your Hawaiian vacation you need to get around. Usually it's easiest to make sure that the rental car agency is located in the airport you are flying into, or that they at least provide a free ride to and from the airport.
You can often get car rental discounts when you book your flight, many vacation packages include car rental along with the flight and hotel. But before you accept that "great" deal, be sure to call the rental agency directly first for a comparison of what their prices are. Another thing to think about is you plan on staying fairly close to your hotel is moped rentals. Their easy on the gas, cheap to rent, and driving around a little slower give you more time to look around. When it starts to rain (and it will!) you duck into a coffee shop, or some place of interest to wait it out. Usually the rain doesn't last too long.
Car rental rates change depending on whether you are trying to book during the peak tourist seasons or off-season. Quite often you can greatly reduce your vacation price by booking just before or after the peak season. Hawaii is a great place to visit year around.
